.nonfiction analysis of : riding high by vicky woods...

Last week reading led to the articles on the September issue of vogue, that I loved one of them is “Riding high” by Vicki Woods, the articles pictures where photographed by the incredible Mario Testino, who has photographed celebrities for vogue for years!
The article is about how fabulous charlotte Casiraghi is. How committed she is to horse back riding and the elegance with witch she performs this life style, for example in the article they point out that charlotte and her horses have a unique Gucci customized uniform! How cool is that?
The writers credibility is great, because she includes quotes and events in the past, also some of charlottes achievements such as her previous competition in Cannes and the upcoming one in Monaco, this shows us how strong and dedicated she is, the author also mentions the dimensions of the casiraghi’s personal kingdom (Monaco) that is rather small “The fabled principality, tiny city-state is smaller than central parks” says the author. She shares charlottes opinions with the readers like when she says, “she likes the technical precision of show jumping” it gives the reader an inside to charlottes mind. The author definitely shows the research and interviews involved in the article and that feels very nice, not to mention anything on vogue is trustworthy.
I believe the author decided to approach this topic now because it is very glamorous in the sense that we are entering a trend of traditional beauty and vintage style and a princess that radiates heritage and plays a very traditional vintage elegant sport, that was her purpose and it is an interesting way to approach the trend don’t you think?
We all love to know what happens in the lives of famous people like Mrs. Casiraghi we love to know all the luxuries and great things they have or say, it is natural for an audience like the readers of fashion magazines to feel intrigued by this social status we all wish we where her! That’s the audience I think she was trying to approach when she wrote the article.
The writer explains the topic very well in an open way very explicit to the reader I most say that it is an easy reading, full of ideas places and events. I liked the attitude of the speaker it was calm but still optimistic, there was a hint of admiration towards charlotte, and I think it was persuasive in that way the author wanted the readers to admire her hard work and her gracefulness!
The narrator describes and comments on charlotte not very often she lets the quotes she included about charlotte free each readers mind into judging her their own way. I think the essay is a social comment, it is very realistic and also symbolic it the sense that it produces an idea of the life style this people have, I loved the way the author organized the information I HAVE TO CLASSIFY THIS AS A CLASSIC.

non fiction analysis of: Vava Boom by Lynn Yaeger

When I read Vava boom I was immediately interested I love Victoria secret and to read that they had been on he runways of the New York fashion week was amazing, literally amazing due to the fact that they are not slim almost boyish like the models that we are used to see, so that is a very interesting trend fuller women in the catwalks and not to mention that they walked down the Louis Vuitton and Galliano shows MAJOR!!!!
The author Lynn was so credible she had talked to the girls and she was equally amazed with the topic so that gave it a trill of excitement in her tone, she quoted some of the girls like when she quotes channel Iman the skinniest of the models saying that she is trying hard to gain wait “ look I’m having a double cheese burger! I try super hard!” and then Iman compares herself with her fuller work mates “ if I could have a body like some of the other Victoria Secret angels I would definitely trade” this way the article becomes real and trustworthy with facts and provable events and opinions.
I believe the writer choose these particular topic because it has always been a controversial topic and a topic the audience likes to read about, and because we where all shocked by the impact this small decision had on the perception of this season cloths and trends a more voluptuous girl is the trend I wonder! It was not only the situation the author discussed but the future events like for example is this going to be seen in the next runway shows or it was a one in a life time thing, and the designers answered “I heard from people that wanted me to say that is not a fleeting moment. I think it was the new thing to talk about this season, but I don’t know how lasting it will be,” says marc Jacobs. So she gave us not only the great news but the death sentence too. She tells the readers why also through Nicolas Ghesquiere and Marc Jacobs that explained the reasons why they picked a rounder woman “ the Louis Vuitton speedy is such a ladylike bag” basically the hand bag needed are more voluptuous girl to expose it the feminine way.
The purpose of the author had to be to inform the readers, the audience of the article are people that know the names of fashion designers, constant loyal readers of vogue that felt as intrigued as the author to know what had made these designers hire rounder models, and why now… and she nailed it her audience the fashion lovers the critical, judgmental, glamorous people of the world read and got a full report.
The constant changing style and industry is something we will never fully understand but that we know we truly love, it is trilling like a constant escape to a less serious life style that shows itself like shallow and superficial, but in the end is artistic and harmonic.
The author brought in me different emotions and ideas, her essay for me was an exploration of an idea, very realistic and cheerful almost hopeful in some ways, I don’t know if it is a classic but I liked it very much.
